New numbers and Zoom for Sunday
Thank you to all of you who joined us for worship on Sunday. Everything seemed to work! Hurrah! So, we continue using this number and PIN. Remember, you will NOT have to use the #. You will NOT be asked to announce yourself, although it would be helpful to just say your name and then wait for others to join. So this Sunday we will use Zoom simultaneously with the conference call - again! Please remember to print your order of service if you are using Zoom. It is also really important that those who can mute themselves on either the phone or Zoom.
The Conference Call dial in number is:

Steve and the MC Office
We think we may have done something clever! We have given Steve a laptop and loaded it with software which means that he can access all the office files from home! So, he is getting to grips with things. When I say ‘we’ I really mean Trevor. Trevor has spent quite a bit of time making this possible. Thanks, Trev!
Dawn
As Steve slowly gets back to doing the admin, Dawn won’t need to do so much! Dawn has been a tremendous help over the past few weeks. Thank you so much, Dawn. There will continue to be a bit of too-ing and fro-ing between Dawn and Steve over the next few weeks until things settle.
Flower Festival!
I hope by now that you might have your oasis poised and ready for action! We are hoping to have a Virtual Flower Festival, for all 12 of our churches – The Exe Valley Mission Community, St Thomas Chevithorne, St Peter’s and St Andrew’s Tiverton and anyone who has been worshipping with us over lockdown. It will be held over 10 – 12 July 2020.
To join in, please create a flower arrangement and then photograph it. Send your photograph with your name etc to Dawn Williams by Monday 6 July 2020. If your photograph(s) are difficult to send, you might need to use WeTransfer which allows photographs to be sent more easily, Dawn’s email is dawnannwilliams1@gmail.com and to use WhatsApp the mobile number is 07733959294.
This will then give us time to create a montage of photographs and flowers to go on our website. The theme we have chosen is ‘Faith, Hope and Love’.
Latest
There’s a lot to think about at the moment! We are receiving updates and guidance on an almost daily basis. On Thursday we had a Zoom meeting to talk about some of the issues that are being discussed, with all four Archdeacons and 167 clergy! It was a good job the mute button worked! The reality is that nothing much has changed. But we are getting ready for whatever it is, whenever it comes. In the mean time we need to be patient. I am aware that for some of us this whole thing is weighing very heavily – on our emotions and our spirits. It is worth remembering Jesus’s invitation to each one of us, ‘Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11: 28
With my love and prayers,
Steph
