St Margaret Church, Stoodleigh
ST MARGARET'S CHURCH is now open daily from 9.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. (or dusk)
The church has been given some copies of "Stories of Stoodleigh" by Carol Shore with additional material by Connie Marsh. These are available in the church and donations should be put in the alms box.
St. Margaret's, Stoodleigh, is a 15th century church, significantly enlarged in Victorian times, with notable roof bosses, 'Green Men' wall plates and a Norman font.
Although the regular congregation is small, we always extend a warm welcome and seek to draw others into the fellowship of the church to share in the knowledge of God's love.
As part of the Exe Valley Group of nine parishes there is a regular Group Service once a month held on a rotation basis round the parishes. In addition, in groups of three, Cluster Holy Communion Services are held once a month and Stoodleigh rotates as a Cluster Group with Rackenford and Oakford.
Our other monthly services are taken by Lay Leaders and consist of a Family Service or Morning Prayer at 11.00, and Evening Prayer at 6.30 p.m. Services generally alternate between the Book of Common Prayer with hymns A&M and Common Worship with Mission Praise.
A full list of services is published on the main web page.
The church appreciates having much practical and sympathetic support from the village community.
